Student answer (Band 5.0)
Now days, some people say that now is the best time in history to be living will discuss both views in forthcoming paragraphs.
In 21st century, many individuals believe that current time is the best time to live in the history. there is no doubt about it is best time to live because there is so many developments happen in last 3 decades. For instance people living nowdays in modern cities amd have all facilities to live good life. There are many construction work done in last decades & roads connect one city to another city. it is easy to reach from one to another place.
Second there is huge progress we seen in technology areas also, people can connect to each other in just few seconds. Mostly sectors runs on technology. The education level is changed totally. Every citizen of the country know there responsibility being a educated person. Moreover Education built a good society. People have good hospital facilities now days & it east to reach hospital because its established by local authorities in every city. so it good time live of the history where we have all facilities.
On the other hand 70s & 80s times also good time to live in the history because that technology not rise as we seen now days, people spend there valuable time with their family. althogh people not eat much junk food and believe in simple food and simple living. there was no burden at all for any finacial course. the living cost was very low as compare to today. Overall in my opion the living cost of present history is high but we have much facilities as compate to any other history.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The candidate addresses all parts of the task by giving an opinion on whether the present is the best time to live and identifying an alternative era (the 1970s and 1980s). A position is presented, though development is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on modern facilities focuses heavily on infrastructure and technology, mentioning that "people living nowdays in modern cities amd have all facilities to live good life." Similarly, the alternative time period is supported with general points about lower costs and simpler food rather than deep historical examples. While the ideas are relevant, they tend to over-generalise and lack full extension. Therefore, this performance fits the Band 5 descriptors well, as the task is addressed partially and ideas remain somewhat under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays a basic overall organisation with distinct paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs supporting the present era, and a concluding body paragraph discussing the past. However, the logical progression is hindered by mechanical and faulty cohesive devices. For example, transitional phrases are abrupt, such as "Second there is huge progress..." and "On the other hand 70s & 80s times also good time...". Referencing is also problematic, with pronouns like "it" and "there" used confusingly without clear antecedents, such as in "there is no doubt about it is best time." Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion lacks smooth transitions. These features place the response firmly in Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but the range is limited and repetitive. The candidate frequently reuses common words and phrases, such as "good time", "facilities", and "history". There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, including "Now days", "amd", "east to reach", and "finacial course". Attempts to use less common vocabulary are minimal, and collocations are sometimes awkward, such as "technology not rise" or "burden at all for any finacial course". Because the lexical range is minimally adequate and contains frequent errors, a Band 5 score is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences and basic complex forms that are often faulty. Errors in grammar, punctuation, and tense consistency are frequent throughout the response. Examples include missing articles and incorrect verb forms: "in 21st century", "there is so many developments happen", "Every citizen of the country know there responsibility being a educated person", and "althogh people not eat much junk food". Run-on sentences and punctuation omissions also occur frequently, such as lacking periods between clauses. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, aligning the grammar with Band 5 criteria.
