Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, some people believe that now is the best time in history to be living. I agree with this opinion because modern life offers many advantages, such as better healthcare system, more technology, and education opportunities. Otherside, I also believe history period would be interesting to experience. I will discuss both statement in upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, today people have access to better medical treatment than in the past. Many serious diseases can now solve with the help of new medical systems. We can communicate with people around the world with the help of technology and learners also study online, find information easily. For example, students ca use internet to learn new skills and attend courses from home. These opportunities were not available in pat time period.
Futhermore, why present time is a good time to live is that individuals have more choices. Many can choose there careers, travel to different countries and learn about other culture. Public transport and modern buildings also make daily life more comfortable. Moreover, there are problems such as pollution, strees, and high living costs, but I believe the advantages of modern lise is greater.
On the other hand, If I could another time in history, I would like to live during 1947. This period would be interesting beacuse it was a time of crucial political change, rebuilding after the second world war and also observe hoew countries rebuilt themselves, and learn how people changing societies. Thus, It would also be interesting to see the development of new technologies and understand what daily life was like before modern smartphonesand social media.
Tu sum-up, I believe the present is the best time to live because of better healthcare, technology, and freedom. But never forget, 1947 would be an important period to experience because of its historical changes and the beginning of a new post-war era.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: it gives an opinion on why the present day is a great time to live, and it identifies an alternative historical period (1947). The position is generally clear throughout the essay. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed and lack extension. For instance, the discussion of healthcare and technology in the second paragraph relies on brief statements rather than fully explored examples. Similarly, the explanation for choosing 1947 in the fourth paragraph touches on important political changes and rebuilding, but could have benefited from a more concrete historical illustration. Because all parts of the task are addressed and a clear position is maintained, the response fits well within the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as modern advantages and the historical alternative of 1947. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. Phrases like 'To begin with,' 'Futhermore,' and 'On the other hand' are utilized, but referencing and transitions can feel repetitive and occasionally clumsy, such as 'Otherside, I also believe history period...'. Additionally, the conclusion opens with 'Tu sum-up,' which contains a typo. Overall logical progression is present, supporting a solid Band 6 performance.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'crucial political change,' 'post-war era,' and 'medical treatment.' However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'Otherside' instead of 'On the other hand,' 'pat time period' instead of 'past time periods,' 'strees' instead of 'stress,' and 'hoew' instead of 'how.' While these inaccuracies do not impede overall communication, they demonstrate a lack of precision that prevents the response from reaching Band 7.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure through clauses with 'because,' 'although,' and relative pronouns. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as 'diseases can now solve' (passive voice error), 'why present time is a good time to live is that...' (clunky phrasing), and 'If I could another time in history' (missing verb). Punctuation and article usage also show occasional slips, such as 'modern smartphonesand' with a missing space. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear and communication is not seriously impeded, which aligns with Band 5.5 to 6.0; a score of 6.0 reflects the mix of structures and intelligible communication.
