IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people say that now is the best time in history to be living.
What is your opinion about this?
What other time in history would be interesting to live in?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Many individuals believe that the present time is the best time to live ih history. I completely agree with this statement due to advanced technology, healthcare and better lifestyle. Although, this is the best time to live in history, If I had a chance to choose other time to live, I would definitely prefer the rennaisance.
In my opinion, this is the best time to live in history because technological advancement. Nowadays, technology has become a part of our lives, and it has made our lives easier and more convenient. For example, with the help of technology, people can communicate with anyone in any corner of the world unlike the past time, where it tooks months to send letters from one region to another. Therefore, present is the best time to live in history. Additionally, improved healthcare facilities provides immediate treatment and better diagnosis compared to past time. As a result, many fatal and untreatable diseases are cured with the help of better healthcare. Moreover, people' lifestyle is improved from different prospectives, such as better infrastructures, transportaion conveniences and easier access to all the facilities make life easier and convenient compared to the past time.
However, If I get a chance to live in another time in history, then probably I would go for the renaissance. It was the golden time period in the european history. It was transition time for architecture, art work and royal empires. That time provides greater insight into the sculptures, landmarks and monuments. That time was ruled by king and built their empires. Hence, the renaissance time period was the golden time to ancient people's and I would be fortunate to live in that golden era.
To conclude, I strongly believe that the present time is the best time to live in history because of the advanced technology, healthcare and life-style. Nevertheless, If I get chance to live another time in history, then definitely it would be the renaissance.
