IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people say that now is the best time in history to be living.

What is your opinion about this?

What other time in history would be interesting to live in?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

Accoeding to my opinion I do agree with the people who say that we are living in the best time of history.The reason is that technology has grown to its peak now a days.We have access to each and every facility of life.When we look into the past the life was not that much easy as it is now.

I will enforce my point of view in terms of technology.First of all if we discuss the travelling,in the past people have to travel for months or even years to reach somewhere far,but now a days this travel has shifted from years to hours.Furthermore if we talk about medical field,in the past there were times when hundreds of people died of simple diseases like flue etc but now medical field has reached a point when complex diseases have been treated.There are advanced radiology as well as laboratory techniques which can detect anything within minutes.

Subsequently life was not as easy as it is now.There are machines and equipments that have made our life easy.In addition mobile phones have shortened the distance.We can talk to our loved ones whenever we want.In contrast there was post service in the past which was not as much as fast mean of communication.So I strongly sopport this opinion that we are living in best time of history.

Furthermore if I have been asked about other time in the history would be interesting then I will definitly want to go in Mughal Era,because I always have fascination about that time period.I admired their way of living their cousine and way of dressing.
