IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people say that now is the best time in history to be living.
What is your opinion about this?
What other time in history would be interesting to live in?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
although a lot of people say that nowadays is the best time in era to live, and despite all the technology that we enjoy that facilitate our live. I can't agree with that opinion because even though the industrial evolution the world become materialistic. and people start to spend most of their time work trying to make a living and less time socialize.
Regarding my opinion, living in the industrial revolution era has its pros and cons. While Technology absoultoly made our life easier in many aspects. However, We are now suffering from turning into materialistic world where people only care about their living level and work for long hours to enhance their lives. Inaddition we can not deny that people do not find the time to socialize or doing sports after a long hectic day at work. Therefore, many people just spend most of their lives working and communitcate with their loved ones only through social platforms. as they do not have enough time to meet face-to-face.
Thus, If I have the chance to pick a specific time to live in, I would definitkly pick the fourtiees, Because even if there was a heavyload housework on ladies on this period, they were finding time to socialize with their neighbours, and have dancing parties, moreover, spending a quality timw with their families. additionally, the fashion related to that time of history was very chic. The ladies were treated respectfully and the childern were having bigger chance to play and develop naturally.
In conclusion, although there is a great advantages of living in a modern society with a great development technology, I would prefer to live in a simple time where I can enjoy peace and quite and be able to spend more quality time with my family.
