Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response is severely incomplete, containing only 85 words, which falls well short of the 250-word minimum requirement. As a result, the writer fails to address all parts of the task fully, particularly regarding what other time in history would be interesting to live in. The introduction breaks down mid-sentence ('On the one hand , supportive of noe the best time in history for living'), leaving the position unclear and the arguments entirely underdeveloped. Based on these significant omissions and length issues, the task response is heavily penalised.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The text demonstrates some basic organisational structure at the beginning, using standard essay transitional phrases like 'Both prespectives have thier own merits'. However, the overall arrangement collapses as the response cuts off abruptly in the middle of a second body paragraph. Paragraphing is not properly executed due to the incomplete nature of the writing, and referencing is faulty, leading to a lack of overall progression and coherence.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, featuring frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'prespectives', 'thier', and 'supprting'. The writer attempts some essay vocabulary ('viewpoints', 'advantages'), but the lexical range is severely limited and inadequate for a complete task. Errors such as 'living in now time' and 'lot of advantages' demonstrate a weak control of word choice and collocation, straining comprehension in places.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of flawed simple and attempted complex sentence structures. There are frequent and intrusive errors throughout the text, such as 'best time in history to be living , whereas other believed', where subject-verb agreement and tense consistency fail. The writing concludes with an incomplete fragment ('On the one hand , supportive of noe the best time in history for living'), which further reduces the grammatical score.
