Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals opine that the contemporary years are more preferable to live in rather than living in past decades. I agreed to this stetment and in the forthcoming paragraphs, I have discussed the reasons behind this situation along with the relevant justifications, also I have illustrated the best time to live in historical era.
One major reason behind consideration of current period as better living is that the advanced medical support. Considering past decades, where the dieing ratio was higher due to lack of efficient medical treatments and effective medicins for dangerous diseases such as maleria, dengue and Tubercolosis. In contemporary era, multi-specialty hospitals, invention of cure of such inevitable diseases like Covid, plegue, and availability of smart technological robots for the areas where human cannot reach barehandedly like brain and intestine have risen up the life span of people. Besides, successful trials on Cancer cure have started nowadays.
Furthermore, due to urbanization, completing basic requirements of individuals becomes more easier compared to past, providing better job opportunities to start an income in various sectors like IT, Medical, public service department, multinational companies. Moreover, Government policies like Home loans, 'Avas Yojna', it becomes more affordable option to buy a new house. Even, public transport makes an easy and affordable commuting alternative for citizens. Thus, combining all option any person can live smooth and happy life.
Elaberating an interesting past historical era was before digitalization, where people tend to do every work without depending on technology, and also living in a place without any pollution. Before the avilability of Internet and mobile phones, for instance, it was an fascinating way of communication, writing letters to their loved ones and remembering all routes or phone numbers by heart, recepctively.
To conclude, both era has their own perks of living, as modern period provides more comfirt and advanced life options, whereas older decades were more pollution free and hardworking era.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you agree that the present is preferable, and you support it with relevant points about medical care, employment, housing and transport. You also answer the second question by identifying the pre-digital era as an interesting time, with examples such as letter-writing and remembering routes. This covers all parts of the task. However, the historical choice is less fully explained than your case for modern life: the appeal of a less polluted, less technology-dependent society is mentioned but not explored in much detail. Some claims, such as the availability of cures for Covid and cancer, would also benefit from more precise qualification or support. Develop the second part with a clearer explanation of what daily life might have been like and why you would personally find it interesting.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs supporting modern life, a paragraph on the past, and a conclusion. The progression from healthcare to practical opportunities is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. At times, however, linking feels mechanical or the relationship between ideas is unclear. For example, “Considering past decades, where…” does not connect smoothly to the preceding sentence, while “Elaberating an interesting past historical era” is an awkward transition into the second question. The final paragraph also introduces a comparison without fully drawing together the earlier reasons. Use clearer topic sentences and connect examples directly to the point they support; this would make the progression more flexible and polished.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “advanced medical support,” “urbanization,” “multinational companies” and “public transport.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, and some choices show an effort to be precise. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “stetment,” “dieing,” “medicins,” “maleria,” “Tubercolosis” and “comfirt.” Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “more preferable to live in” and “risen up the life span.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than overly formal phrasing, and proofread spelling carefully. A more controlled range of vocabulary would make your arguments clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “where” and “whereas,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur and affect fluency. For example, “I agreed to this” uses an unsuitable tense for stating your current opinion, and “both era has” has a number-agreement error. The fragment “Considering past decades, where the dieing ratio was higher…” is not a complete sentence, while “Government policies like Home loans, 'Avas Yojna', it becomes…” has a faulty sentence structure. There are also errors with articles, plurals and comparative forms, as in “an fascinating way” and “more easier.” Practise building complete sentences and checking agreement and article use, especially in longer sentences.
