Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall opinion that the present is the best time to live, and you also identify the past as another period that could be interesting. Relevant reasons include modern healthcare and career opportunities, contrasted with stronger social bonds and a healthier lifestyle in the past. However, the response only partly develops the task: the question asks what other time in history would be interesting, but you discuss the past generally without identifying a particular period or explaining why that specific era would interest you. Several points, such as “lots of opportunities” and “people are free from stress,” are asserted rather than supported with a concrete example. Develop each reason with an explanation or example, and make the historical period more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting the present and the past, a further statement of your view, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main contrast. However, progression is not always clear because the paragraph beginning “I believe that” repeats the argument for the present rather than adding a distinct point, and the conclusion repeats several earlier claims. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “Therefore” are used, but some connections feel mechanical or do not clearly show how one idea follows from another. Improve the progression by giving each paragraph a clear purpose, grouping related reasons, and using referencing and transitions that make the relationships between ideas explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “healthcare system,” “technology,” “social bondings,” and “career.” This is enough to communicate the main comparison, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less natural. Examples include “present is best time to living,” “strong social bondings,” “young food,” and “needs also increase according to the innovation.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “easly,” “oppournities,” and “candition.” Build a more precise range for discussing historical periods, social life, and technological change, and check spelling and common word combinations. For example, use “close community ties” rather than “social bondings.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the reader can generally understand your main points. However, the range is limited, and attempts to form complex sentences often contain errors. For example, “if individual have any problem” has problems with the article and subject–verb agreement, while “they also free from stress” is missing a verb. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent in phrases such as “the present” and “a lots of opportunities,” and sentence boundaries and capitalisation are unreliable, as in “Good healthcare system.” and “without technology.” These recurring errors sometimes make the reader pause. Practise accurate sentence patterns with conditional clauses, and check each sentence for a subject, a correctly formed verb, and appropriate articles.
