Student answer (Band 5.5)
In modern society, a few individuals believe that present time is the best time in history for living. There are many reasons behind this opinion. The primary reason is advancement in technology which offer many benefits related to education, healthcare, entertainmen, and makes life more easy as compare to past days. This essay will discuss this topic along with my own opinion in the subsequent paragraphs.
To commence with the viwepoint of people who assert that consider current time best in history for living smooth and comfortable life, the first and foremost point is that technological innovations makes life more easy than other time in history. Individual can do any complex tasks with help of computers in few seconds which takes many days when people do it mannually. Moreover, these innovation also revolutionised the communication system. To explain it, people make conversation with their friends and loved one on their smartphones anytime anywhere regardless of distance. As a result, it strengthen their social bonds and reduce distance boundaries. In addition to that emergence of Articial Intellience helps in improving education and helps in diagnoses of different diseases and their treatments. Students can learn different subjects and get assistance in assignments using online resources, and Articial Intellience tools. For instance, tools such as chatgpt assist students in study projects and making assignments.
On the other hand, some people opine that other time in history would be more interesting when we do not have technology because in that period people will not depend on technology to make their decisions. They will have more strong cognitive skills to accomplish tasks. Apart from this, this will give them opportunity to meet face to face instead of doing conversation on phone calls. Consequently, it will enhance their cognitive skills and social ties.
In conclusion, although there are many benefits of living in technology age such as assistance in educations, diagnose and prevention of cronic diseases, too much dependence on digital technology have a detrimental effect on cognitive and problem solving skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss the benefits of living now and give a relevant concern about dependence on technology, so the response has a clear general focus. However, the task asks for your opinion and for another historical period that would be interesting to live in. Your own position is not stated clearly until the conclusion, and the alternative period is not identified: the paragraph instead describes a time without technology, without saying when that would be or why that particular era would be interesting. Several points, such as AI’s role in education and healthcare, are relevant but mainly listed rather than explained with specific examples. State your view directly in the introduction and develop a clearly named historical period with reasons and supporting detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally move from present-day advantages to a contrasting view. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “In addition to that,” and “On the other hand” help signal these shifts. However, the progression is sometimes mechanical, with several transitions announcing points rather than showing how they connect. The second body paragraph also shifts to a hypothetical time without technology, so its relationship to the question’s request for another historical period is unclear. Some references, including “these innovation” and “this,” are not always clear. Improve cohesion by making each paragraph’s central point explicit and using pronouns and transitions that clearly connect claims to their supporting explanations.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “technological innovations,” “communication system,” “cognitive skills,” and “social ties,” which allows you to discuss technology and its effects. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “detrimental effect.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural: “life more easy,” “make conversation,” “diagnoses” where a noun is needed, and misspellings such as “Articial Intellience” and “cronic.” Some phrases are also vague or awkward, including “other time in history.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and word forms, and learn common collocations—for example, “make life easier” and “have a conversation”—rather than relying on direct translations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “which,” “when,” and “although,” and the main meaning is usually understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction recur. For example, “technological innovations makes” should use a plural verb, while “these innovation” needs a plural noun; “Individual can do” also needs an article or plural form. In the conclusion, “too much dependence … have” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and the final sentence does not clearly complete the contrast introduced by “although.” Work on checking the subject and verb in each clause, and revise long sentences to ensure that subordinate clauses connect to a complete main clause.
