Student answer (Band 5.0)

In my point of view, I would like to live in 90s era as comparied to today. However, we are getting many facilities nowadays, but still i would go back to 90s. There are many reasons behind this choice which i will explain in the upcoming paragraphs.

The first and foremost reason is the quality of life. Back then, people were living in peace without thinking about future. In other words, they paid attention to real life problems rather than worrying about future. For example,If they earned money then they spent on real things rather than materilistic stuffs. Even today, people are taking references from past history, so they can have quality of life like those people.

Furthermore, Healthy diet. In pervious days, people were having healthy and chemical free food which leads to healhty lifestyle and matured thinking. Reserchers have found that healthy food leads to healthy heart. History books showed that people from 90s era were stronger in term of fitness, mindset, and hardwork. Considering these fatcs, I would like to stay in 90s era.

In conclusion, although we have number of facilities or amenties to fullfil our needs , 90s ers was the best to stay healthy and active without paying payinh in gyms.]

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear preference for living in the 1990s and provide relevant reasons, including a calmer lifestyle and healthier food. However, the response only partially fulfils the task: it does not directly discuss whether the present is the best time in history to live, despite briefly acknowledging modern facilities, and the reasons are asserted more than explained. For example, the claim that people in the 1990s “were living in peace” is broad and needs a specific example or qualification. The response is also 46 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop both parts of the question. Address the present-day comparison explicitly and extend each reason with concrete support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs introduced by “The first and foremost reason” and “Furthermore,” and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. However, progression is limited because the paragraphs mainly list claims rather than build and explain them, and the second body paragraph begins with the fragment “Furthermore, Healthy diet.” Some linking is mechanical, while punctuation and spacing around transitions—for example, “In other words” and “For example”—interrupt the flow. The conclusion repeats the preference but does not bring together the reasons or answer the comparison with today. Develop a clearer sequence within each paragraph: state a reason, explain it, and then give a relevant example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, such as “quality of life,” “facilities,” “healthy lifestyle,” and “materialistic,” so the reader can understand your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “comparied,” “pervious,” “materilistic stuffs,” and “amenties.” Some expressions are also unnatural or unclear, such as “matured thinking” and “paying payinh in gyms.” These errors do not prevent the overall message from being understood, but they make parts of the response less fluent. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; use more precise language to describe the differences between life in the 1990s and today.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer structures, including “although we have number of facilities…” and “If they earned money then they spent…,” but most sentences follow simple patterns, and the complex attempts are not consistently controlled. Errors in articles, agreement, tense, and sentence construction occur throughout: for example, “people were living in peace without thinking about future” needs clearer article use, while “90s ers was” has an agreement problem. “Furthermore, Healthy diet” is not a complete sentence, and punctuation is often missing after full stops or commas. These issues sometimes make the reader pause, although the central meaning remains understandable. Practise complete sentences and accurate clauses, then proofread for articles, verb forms, agreement, and punctuation.
