Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary society, a substantial number of individuals believe that it the best era to live in. However, it is undeniable that we are enjoying a number of facilities that our elders did not have. Before stating my opinion, this essay will analyze whether we are really living in the best time and what other time would be interesting to live in.
Unquestionable, the time we are living is the best time. Today's generation, with the rise in technology, living a hassle very life. They have every possible facilities that make live easy. For instance, we have now better transport system, communication system, advance technologies to do the tasks and so on. Everything is on our fingertips. Previously, people have to wait for months for a letter to know about the well-being of their loved one. However, now with a better connectivity, we can contact a person living miles apart whenever we want. People have to travel for days to reach somewhere now we can reach our destinations in hours. For instance, hundred years ago, people travel in groups and utilise camel for travelling, during a journey traveller has to look after the camel and his belongings too. However, now anyone can travel solo by keeping in touch with his family. We can also transfer the funds online by sitting on our coach. We do not need to visit to banks to pay for the utility bills. A number of entertainment options are in our access.
Before technology, people also living an interesting life. Since they did not have social media they were not worrying about who is liking or disliking them. They were living their lives to the fullest. They had true friends. They had healthy food and did not rely on supplements. Moreover, their daily routine was extremely active that they did not need to go to gym.
From my perspective, this period giving us a number of advantages and facilities to live a comfortable life. However, technology brings some drawbacks with itself. People are constantly under surveillance through social media accounts, which sometimes cause anxiety in the individuals. Every generation believes that they are living the best life which is true to some extent. Therefore, whatever time we are living in is the best time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you consider the present the best era because technology makes communication, travel, banking and entertainment more convenient. These examples are relevant and give the main view some support. You also introduce a contrasting perspective by noting that people in the past may have had closer friendships and healthier routines. However, the task asks you to identify another historical period that would be interesting to live in, and this is not answered directly: “Before technology” is too broad to identify a particular time, and you do not explain why you would personally choose it. The discussion of past life is also less developed than the benefits of modern technology. Name a specific era and explain what you would find compelling about living then.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to advantages of modern life, a contrast with earlier life, and a concluding opinion. Examples such as letters compared with instant contact help the reader follow the central comparison. Paragraphing is generally appropriate, and linking expressions including “However,” “Moreover,” and “Therefore” make relationships between ideas visible. At times, though, the progression is mechanical or unclear. The opening promises to analyse “what other time” would be interesting, but the essay never identifies one, and the paragraph beginning “Before technology” shifts to general observations without a clear link to a chosen period. Some transitions also repeat contrast rather than develop the argument. Make the second part of the task a distinct, logically developed paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss technology and daily life, including “connectivity,” “surveillance,” “supplements,” and “entertainment options.” These choices help convey relevant ideas, and the meaning is generally understandable. There are, however, several inaccurate or unnatural word choices and collocations, such as “living a hassle very life,” “every possible facilities,” “on our coach,” and “in our access.” “Advance technologies” is also not the natural form in this context. These slips sometimes make the reader pause, even though the intended meaning can usually be inferred. Aim for precise, natural combinations—for example, “a hassle-free life,” “all the facilities,” and “within reach”—and check word forms and collocations when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “However,” “Since,” and “which,” and most of the argument remains understandable. Some grammatical errors nevertheless recur. Examples include “it the best era” (missing verb), “the time we are living is” (missing “in”), “people have to wait” when describing the past, and “this period giving us” (incorrect verb form). There are also agreement and article problems in phrases such as “every possible facilities” and “a better transport system.” These errors do not usually prevent communication, but they reduce accuracy and make some sentences awkward. Review sentence-by-sentence for complete verb phrases, consistent tense when discussing the past, and agreement between determiners and nouns.
