Student answer (Band 5.5)

It's an interesting point. In my opinion, it's worth considering. Some individuals think now is the best time in the history to be living As far as it concerned, Today world is changing on daily basis. People are more educated , well settled and modern as compared to the ninteen century. Firstly, Everyone is in race with each other for getting higher education. After getting education from well reputed institutes. They become modern. In addition, Now everything is so convienient and a click away. Mobile phones are so addictive nowadays. THere are many apps from where people can call each other from other countries, People can order food online , can have aceess to news through social media apps. On the other hand in past, Peoples used to send each other letters , at that time they ddinot have smart phone. At that time people were so innocent. On the other hand, Today everyonce lack respect, love and affection for eachother, they are in search of money, They think money can buy happines. In addition, they lack cultural values and respect, people became selfish and heartless. Furthermore, If I talk about past, I think it would be interesting to live in, by doing everything ourselves we become more practical and concerned about our future. we would came to know about the cultural values . In conclusion, I beleive that with no doubts today is more established and successfull as compared to history, Its a time of IT and AI . However, this made us lazy So far everything is convinient. For instance, from making lectures for students to ordering food online. Every thing is just a click away, And in past there were no such facilities. So today is the best time outweigh the opinion.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall preference for the present, especially in the conclusion, and support it with relevant examples such as online food ordering, mobile communication and access to news. You also identify the past as another period that would be interesting, referring to practical skills and cultural values. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says the issue is “worth considering” without stating your view, and the discussion of the past does not identify a particular historical period or explain why it would be interesting in detail. Several claims, such as people today being selfish, are broad and need explanation or a specific example. Develop both answers more fully and maintain a direct position throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable overall shape, moving from advantages of modern life to its disadvantages, then considering the past and concluding. Examples also help the reader follow the main topic. However, progression within and between ideas is uneven. “On the other hand” is used for contrasting points, but the relationship between some sentences is not clear, and “Furthermore” introduces the past without a smooth link to the preceding criticism of modern society. The long, loosely connected sections and inconsistent paragraph breaks make the organisation difficult to follow. Use clear paragraphs for your view of the present, the historical period you would choose, and the conclusion; connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate ideas about education, technology and social values, including “higher education,” “cultural values” and “social media apps.” There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “selfish and heartless.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear: “in the race with each other,” “a click away,” and “the best time outweigh the opinion” are examples. Spelling errors such as “convienient,” “happines” and “successfull” are noticeable, and repeated words such as “people,” “today” and “in addition” reduce variety. Aim for precise collocations and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and some basic clauses communicate your meaning, for example, “Mobile phones are so addictive nowadays.” However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine ideas often contain frequent errors that can make the reader pause. Examples include “As far as it concerned,” “Today world is changing on daily basis,” and “we would came to know,” which show problems with verb forms, articles and sentence construction. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, with sentences joined by commas or left without clear boundaries. Practise building accurate complex sentences with conjunctions such as “although” and “because,” and check subject–verb agreement, tense and sentence boundaries.
