Student answer (Band 6.0)

Certain individuals hold a view that present time is the phenomenal time to live . I largely agree with notion as contemporary era has all the vital resorces and more safety as compared to past times.

To begin with, 21st centuary is the time of technology , which means masses have access to all the technical resources. Technologies like social media, better medical care, transportation have already emerged their deep roots in human life. Without these things a person cannot imagine any life. For example 90% of youngsters are already indulge ito social media and they cannot live without it. Thus, it can be vividly seen contemporary era is superior in contrast to past.

Furthermore, if I talk about any other era in hisatory which people love to live, that must be 100 years ago time. This is because at that time no pollution was there, individuals were depending on nature for the purpose of food, shelter and clothes. No one was greedy in terms of money and people love to help each other. For instance, people in 19th century have an average span of 90 yeasrs inspite of this century people who' average lifespan is of atmost 70 years. Therefore, that time can be superior to live as humans were away from manmade technologies.

To conlude, although 100 years back is a good time to live on this planet earth, in my opinion the current era is more benfical and more technological which makes people live more easy and interesting.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you largely agree that the present is the best time to live, and you also identify the nineteenth century as another interesting period. The technology and medical-care points are relevant, while your contrast with a less technology-dependent past gives the second part a distinct focus. However, some support is under-developed or unclear. The claim that 90% of young people cannot live without social media is broad and needs a reliable or qualified example. The historical paragraph also makes unsupported claims about pollution, cooperation and life expectancy, and it is not clear why these features would make that period interesting despite your preference for modern life. Explain the comparison more carefully and develop each reason with credible detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph supporting the present, one considering another historical period, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow, and the final paragraph returns to your main opinion. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the clearer progression associated with a stronger performance. However, the linking is somewhat formulaic, and connections within paragraphs are occasionally abrupt. For example, the move from social media use to the claim that the contemporary era is superior is not fully explained. Make the relationship between each example and its point explicit, and use referencing and transitions that connect ideas rather than simply announce the next one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “contemporary era,” “medical care,” “pollution” and “manmade technologies,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, noticeable spelling, word-form and collocation problems reduce precision: “resorces,” “centuary,” “hisatory” and “benfical” are misspelled, while “emerged their deep roots” and “average span” are unnatural in context. Some wording is also vague or repetitive, such as “that time” and “good time to live.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main ideas, but they limit the range and control expected at a higher level. Prioritise accurate spelling and natural word partnerships, and choose more precise terms when comparing historical periods.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “This is because” and a contrast introduced by “although.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “90% of youngsters are already indulge” has an incorrect verb form, and “people in 19th century have” needs more accurate article and tense choices. The opening also omits an article in “agree with notion,” while the final sentence has an unclear construction in “which makes people live more easy.” These examples show that sentence patterns are attempted but not consistently controlled. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, verb forms and adjective/adverb forms, then proofread punctuation and spacing.
