Student answer (Band 5.5)

Few folks claims that present era is more enjoyable as compared to past time. Although, in history people were more connected because of less busy schedule but I believe now is best time because of convenient transportation and safety protocols.

To begin with, nowadays is considered as beneficial time as it is more accessible to travel anywhere within short span of time whereas in past era because of lack of vehicle it was harder to commute. For example, most of the individuals who work outside they do not only go to their workplace easily with the help of their own vehicle but also complete their desired habits after work such as gym, going to river side for meditation. However, in history people were not able to complete all their tasks in one day as it was more time taking because only some of them have their own goods to travel.

Moreover, as compared to before government came up with many safety rules such as instant call to 911 or use of fire alarms in buildings which prevent any hazardous activity which could take place whereas in history there was no advanced access for safety. Apart from this, everyday needs were not much expensive in history namely, rent, groceries, travel expenses. Due to this people were less stressed and used to give much time to their children and community which helped build their relationships . According to my perspective, spending time with each other was one of the interesting and valuable experience in history.

In conclusion, history time was valuable because it used to helped to maintain everyone's relationships. However, because of accessible transportation and safety rules present is the best time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you consider the present the best time to live because transport is convenient and safety measures are available. You also address the second question by identifying the past as an interesting period, especially for its closer family and community relationships. These are relevant ideas, but the historical period is not specified, and the comparison is not fully developed. The point about lower living costs and reduced stress is introduced but not clearly connected to why that era would be interesting to experience. To strengthen the response, name a particular period and explain what daily life or a specific historical event would make it appealing, while developing your examples more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The first body paragraph focuses on transport, while the next discusses safety and then shifts to historical costs and relationships. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear: “Apart from this” introduces a point about past expenses that does not clearly follow from safety, and “Although” in the opening does not lead into a complete contrast. Group related ideas more consistently, and use clearer references to show how each example supports your opinion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “convenient transportation,” “safety rules,” “hazardous activity” and “community,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “more enjoyable as compared to past time,” “short span of time,” “complete their desired habits” and “advanced access for safety.” These choices sometimes make the meaning less clear. Aim for natural combinations and precise terms, for example, “more enjoyable than in the past,” “a short time,” “pursue their interests” and “access to emergency services.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrast with “Although” and a relative clause in “safety rules … which prevent any hazardous activity.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction remain noticeable. For example, “Few folks claims” should use a plural verb, and “it used to helped” has an incorrect verb form. The opening “Although” clause is also not joined correctly to the main clause, while “present is the best time” needs an article. Review subject–verb agreement and the patterns after “used to,” and check that each subordinate clause is attached to a complete sentence.
