Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is believed by some that present time is best for living in the history. I totally agree to this statement .However the timed about thirty years back in the history would also be interesting to live life .This essay will further elaborate about both my opinion and life being lived in the history .

On the one side, advancement in technology makes life easier in today's era .To expound, everything there is no need to spend hours on doing things by hands, machines can do perform those duties quickly .It saves humans time and energy both.Additionally people can stay connected with their lovec ones even if they are living far away from them, technology has made things easier with the invention of electric devices. As an example, people can talk to their loved once face to face through video calls .All this is possible because of technology .Hence ,this is the best era for survival .

On the other side, years back people used to live a healthy and stressless life .To explain further, in those days people used to have less time to enjoy .They used to work outside for almost all day and it helped them to live healty and longer .Also, there was no awareness about cell phones .They used to sit together at one place during their free times and spend times with each other. This made their lifestyle more relaxed. For example, there used to be a common space in all villages where all people gathered in the evenings. Thus, they shared their joys and sorrows that lead to a peacful life ahead.

In conclusion , it can be said that although pasr times are more interesting to live but life today is

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear opinion that the present is the best time to live, and you also identify an earlier period as interesting, so both questions receive a response. The technology examples—machines saving time and video calls connecting distant relatives—are relevant and help explain your view. However, the second part is less fully addressed: “years back” is vague, while the prompt asks for another time in history. The claim that people had a “healthy and stressless life” is also broad, and the explanation that they worked outside all day does not clearly show why life was healthier or more interesting. The conclusion is unfinished, so it does not complete or reinforce your comparison. Specify a historical period and develop the reasons with clearer support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting periods, and an attempted conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your ideas. However, progression is weakened by mechanical signposting such as “On the one side” and “On the other side,” and some links do not express the intended relationship clearly. For example, “They used to work outside for almost all day and it helped them to live healthy and longer” does not clearly connect the work to the claim about health. The final sentence stops at “life today is,” leaving the argument without closure. Use transitions that show comparison or contrast precisely, connect each example directly to its point, and ensure the conclusion is complete.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “advancement in technology,” “video calls,” and “gathered in the evenings.” There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “shared their joys and sorrows.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Phrases such as “best era for survival,” “spend time to enjoy,” and “stressless life” are not natural in this context. Spelling errors, including “healty,” “peacful,” and “lovec,” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise vocabulary for historical periods and quality of life, and check spelling and common word combinations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including examples introduced with “To explain further” and a clause beginning “although.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, articles, and punctuation occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For instance, “machines can do perform those duties” contains an incorrect verb pattern, while “there used to be a common space in all villages where all people gathered” has awkward article and number choices. The conclusion, “although pasr times are more interesting to live but life today is,” is incomplete and combines contrasting structures incorrectly. Practise forming complete sentences, using one correct contrast pattern at a time, and checking verb forms and sentence boundaries.
