Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that this modern era is the perfect time for living. In my opinion, I firmly believe that this is the right time to live. There are some other time in history that people found interesting to live. This essay will discuss both the questions.
Discussing the first question, I believe that this era is best time on earth to live because there are many facilities available for human being. It means technology has made people's life more easier. For example, cell phones and televisions have become smarter than before. Also, with help of vehicles and public transportaions, world has become smaller nowadays. Secondly, compare to the 18th-19th centuries, number of wars has reduced. For instance, citizens can leave peacefully without any fear of wars.
Considering the second question there are still some other eras that people find interesting to live. In the period of 80s-90s era, there were less polution compare to the current period because there were less vehicles and industries. As a result, many people believe that era would be best for their health. Secondly, people were more connected emotionaly back in 80s-90s as there were less technologies so that people had to do face-to-face communication even for short conversations.
To conclude, there will always be a debate regarding the best era to live as every time period has it's own benefits and drawbacks. Considering the technologies and the trasportation, current period is the superior time to live. On the other hand, to live a healthy lifestyle, the vintage era was the most prefered era.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and state a clear opinion: you consider the present the best time to live, while identifying the 1980s–90s as an interesting alternative. Your reasons—technology, transport and fewer wars today, and less pollution and more face-to-face contact in the past—are relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that wars have reduced compared with the 18th–19th centuries would be stronger with a specific example or a clearer qualification. The alternative era is also described broadly, without explaining what made that period personally or historically distinctive. Develop these ideas with concrete examples and explain their significance to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two questions, and a conclusion that restates the comparison. Signposting such as “Discussing the first question” and “Considering the second question” makes the progression easy to follow, and “For example” and “As a result” help connect supporting details. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. However, the signposting is somewhat mechanical, and the opening says the essay will discuss “both the questions” without previewing the position or main reasons. Some links between claims could be more explicit—for instance, explain how reduced pollution in the 1980s–90s would improve health. Use more natural transitions and clearer links between each reason and its consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “public transportation,” “face-to-face communication,” “pollution,” and “benefits and drawbacks.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “the 18th–19th centuries” and “current period.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive: “perfect time for living,” “life more easier,” and “leave peacefully” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “transportaions,” “polution,” and “emotionaly” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise expressions for historical periods, quality of life and social change, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple sentences and some longer structures, including a reason clause with “because” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “There are some other time” needs plural agreement, while “this era is best time” is missing an article. In “people can leave peacefully,” the verb does not fit the intended meaning, and “there were less technologies” has a countability problem. The sentence beginning “Secondly, compare to…” also needs a correctly formed comparison. Practise articles, agreement, countable and uncountable nouns, and comparative structures. Then proofread each sentence for these patterns while retaining the useful variety of sentence forms you already attempt.
