Student answer (Band 5.0)
While some individuals believe that this good time in history to be living, others reject this notion. I think past times about fifty years ago was the best time to be living. In this essay i will explain the reasons of view and some drawbacks of today life, in following paragraphs. There are many reasons why I have this view, the main one is the now people are more busy with technological development rather spending time with other human beings. By this I mean that people have lost many skills to present themselve in proper way in public. They know how to share their feelings using emoticons avialble on social media sites, but they do not know how to use body language and voice tone of expression. Another reason for my view is that, lack of knowledge of essential characters like passions and generasity, in people. these two factors are very important for smooth runing of society. In addition, they are feeling loinlier, as they remian chatting with other through internet rather than meeting them face to face. For instance, reseach has proved that it necessary for individuals to direct meet the other people, if they want to remain healthy mentally. Therefore, It is not best time in history to be living. Despite of above ideas, there is major drawback in todays life is that, relationships people have withh each other have be weaken, with these relations it is not possible to live happily. In conclusion, I think that past times were best to live, because there was more group work in people for the development in society.Given the situation, it is recommened that we should change uor life style to improve standard of living.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear general opinion that the past was preferable, and you offer relevant reasons, including reduced face-to-face interaction and weaker social skills. However, the response only partially addresses the task: it does not identify a specific other historical period that would be interesting to live in, or explain why you would choose it. The discussion of the past remains broad (“past times about fifty years ago”), and several claims, such as people lacking “passions and generosity,” are asserted rather than supported with a clear example. The paragraph beginning “Despite of above ideas” also introduces a drawback of modern life without clearly developing how it relates to your position. Address both questions directly and support each main idea with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “Another reason” and “For instance” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression is not consistently clear: the second body paragraph combines social qualities, loneliness and a research claim, while the paragraph beginning “Despite of above ideas” repeats the point about weakened relationships rather than adding a distinct, well-connected idea. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “these two factors” are not fully clear because the preceding wording is difficult to follow. Organise each body paragraph around one main point, explain it, and connect it explicitly to your opinion. A separate paragraph answering which historical period you would choose would also make the overall structure more complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “technological development,” “body language,” “social media” and “face to face.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts of the message difficult to understand. Examples include “present themselve in proper way,” “essential characters,” “smooth runing of society” and “direct meet.” There are also repeated general terms such as “people,” “life” and “time,” which limit precision. Aim to learn natural word partnerships and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, you could describe people as “communicating effectively in public,” refer to “personal qualities,” and say that society “functions smoothly.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a contrast with “While” and a reason introduced by “By this I mean.” However, errors are frequent, and some make the intended meaning harder to follow. For example, “I think past times about fifty years ago was” has problems with the article, tense and subject–verb agreement; “the now people are more busy” has an unclear sentence structure; and “relationships people have withh each other have be weaken” contains errors in verb form and agreement. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “i” and “society. In addition.” Practise accurate sentence patterns, especially articles, agreement and verb forms, then proofread each sentence for complete structure and punctuation.
