Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, we live in a internet ear and in a very convenient life. Mostly indiviual think that this is good time to live than past. I will give my point of view in below paragraphs.
It cannot denying that Nowadays, we have alot of options in everyting and we can get help from internet as well as we have rebort in this ear for help people. In my opinion, young people are more dependent then olders because in history everyone do hard work and do alot of effort for make their family happy but nowadays eveyone try to adopt shortcut just because on internet, as well as in as people go out side for work and they meet new people every day but nowadays mostly people do work from home and they did not get chance to meet others so they have lake of confidence and they donot have good friends then past.
If we talk about past that was very interesting time because that time people donot have phones that in that time people talk but notes as well as that time people donot need expencive giftes from others that time everyones life was very simple and happy. nowadays in historical places when people went or read historical book that time people feel that there life was very interested and different then this modren life.
In conclusion, i belive that past was best then this modren life because there life was very simple and easy then nowadays and our history is more interested and unique then today.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall opinion that the past was better, and you address both questions by describing modern life and identifying the past as an interesting period. Your points about internet dependence, working from home, and simpler social interactions are relevant. However, the discussion of the other historical period remains general: you do not identify a particular era or explain what specific features would make it interesting to experience. The comparison between past and present is also asserted more than supported, and some claims, such as people in the past being happier, need an example or explanation. Develop each main reason with a concrete illustration to make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph about present-day life, a paragraph about the past, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to track because several ideas are joined into very long sentences, especially the paragraph beginning “It cannot denying that Nowadays”. Linking phrases such as “as well as” and repeated references to “nowadays” and “that time” do not always show clearly how ideas relate. The conclusion repeats the preference for the past rather than bringing the reasons together. Use shorter, clearly focused sentences and organise each paragraph around one main point, supported by an example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “dependent”, “historical”, “convenient”, and “confidence”, and the reader can generally understand your intended comparison. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “nowadays”, “that time”, and “simple”. Frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make parts of the response difficult to read, for example “indivual”, “rebort”, “expencive giftes”, and “interested” where you mean “interesting”. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “internet ear” and “lake of confidence”. Build a more accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling, word forms, and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to express comparisons and give reasons, but the response relies heavily on long sentences joined with “and” and “as well as”, so the range of sentence structures is limited. Errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “It cannot denying” instead of a correctly formed verb phrase, “everyone do hard work” with incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “people donot have phones that in that time people talk” with unclear clause structure. Articles, verb forms, and punctuation also need attention. Practise writing shorter sentences first, then combine ideas using accurate clauses. Check agreement and tense in each sentence, and use full stops to separate complete thoughts.
