Student answer (Band 5.0)

Dear Ali,I recently received your latter and when i checked abd reads about you want to go to college or not .I think my opinion is for you get the job. This job is essential for you because you have no source of income no doubt you're very competent but usually when i have any chance i can get the benefit.you are eligible for this you have lot of experience. you already get part time job recently .

if go to college you complete the degree but you lose lot time and you are not properly focus on studying and can enjoy the study.

The mechanical job is suitable for you before this work is done . you are very hardworking and intelligent this is best for you. you earn money you make property and stalled in you life. I give you suggestion please get this job and enjoy the life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your main position is clear: you recommend that Ali get a job, and you give relevant reasons, including that he needs income and already has work experience. You also address college by saying he may lose time and struggle to focus, and you suggest mechanical work. However, the reasons are brief and sometimes unclear—for example, “can enjoy the study” seems to contradict your point that he would not enjoy college. The job advice would be stronger if you explained why mechanical work suits Ali and gave one or two other suitable job types. Develop each point with a clear explanation so all parts of the task are addressed more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter has a basic overall structure: you introduce your recommendation, discuss college, and then describe a possible job. This gives the reader some sense of how your ideas relate. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow, and several ideas are joined without clear links, as in “you have no source of income no doubt you're very competent.” The transition to the college paragraph is abrupt, and the final advice repeats the recommendation rather than bringing the reasons together. Use separate, clearly focused paragraphs and linking phrases such as “First,” “In addition,” and “For these reasons.” Clearer sentence boundaries and references would also make the letter easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “source of income,” “experience,” “degree,” and “mechanical job,” so the reader can identify your main advice. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unclear. For example, “stalled in you life” does not express your intended idea clearly, while “make property” is not a natural way to describe financial progress. “Latter” is also a spelling error for “letter.” Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling; choosing vocabulary that directly explains the benefits of employment will make your advice more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to communicate several connected ideas, but most sentences rely on simple patterns, and attempts to form longer sentences are often inaccurate. For example, “when i checked abd reads about you want to go to college or not” has an unclear clause structure, while “if go to college you complete the degree” is missing a subject and uses an unsuitable verb form. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, such as “you have lot of experience” and the run-on opening after “Dear Ali.” Practise complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate ideas. These changes would make your meaning more reliable.
