IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.

Write a letter to this friend. In your letter

• say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
• explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
• suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her

Dear Vineet,

I am writing you this letter to advise you to get a job in your studied field which can help to build your future.

Many people are confuse whether to go to college or to try to get a job. I would advise you to get a job. Since the college you have selected for your studies is quite far from your place and travelling would be very time consuming. The college is also not providing an accommodation. It would be very difficult for you to travel everyday.

On the other hand, getting a job would be beneficial for you since you can start earning at this young age and the job is related to what you studied earlier. You can meet new people and know their stories and culture and grow in personal and professional life based on their stories since you would have all seniors in the company.

I would suggest you to go for accounts and finance types of job since you have studied them and you great at dealing with numbers and money management.
