Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all three bullet points of the task: explaining why college might not be suitable, why a job is a good idea, and suggesting specific types of work. However, the letter is incomplete, as it cuts off mid-sentence at the end. While the ideas are relevant, the development is somewhat limited due to the abrupt ending. To improve, ensure that you fully conclude your thoughts and provide a proper closing to the letter, as the current ending leaves the final suggestion unfinished, which impacts the overall task completion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organised into logical paragraphs, and the progression of ideas is generally clear. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'Moreover', and 'Firstly' to link your points. However, the cohesion is somewhat mechanical, and the abrupt ending of the text disrupts the flow of the final paragraph. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your paragraphs are balanced and fully developed before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'theoretical knowledge', 'practical skills', and 'automobile manufacturing'. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'gained an enough theoretical knowledge' (remove 'an') and 'build you career' (should be 'your'). The vocabulary is functional and allows you to convey your message clearly, but it lacks the sophistication or precision required for higher bands. Expanding your range of collocations would help improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'its time' (should be 'it's') and 'gained an enough' (incorrect article usage). Additionally, there is a minor error in 'experience and which will help', where the 'and' is redundant. The punctuation is generally acceptable, but the incomplete final sentence is a significant issue. Focusing on proofreading for small errors like articles and contractions will help improve your accuracy.
