Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sara,
Hope you are doing well. in my opinion u should not head to college rather than you should start working right away.i don,t this you do enjoy college much ,as they put burden and heavy load on students by providing extra written assignments which causes frustration to students.
Getting a job right now seems a better opinion for you.as entering in the work field will give you real life experience, financial independance and will moreover helps you build you career while others will be still studying.in addition to this, earning your own money right after school will give you alot of freedom to fulfill your hobbies. It will also helps to improve your communucation skills, time management etc.
I am here suggestring u some jobs which in my opinion will suits you. I think roles in customer support, sales or a good position of paid job will be best for you.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You clearly state why college might not be enjoyable, explain the benefits of working, and suggest specific job roles. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For example, when discussing the benefits of working, you list several points (financial independence, career building, communication skills) but do not elaborate on them to provide a more persuasive argument. To reach a higher band, try to expand on one or two of these points with a brief personal example or a more detailed explanation to show deeper engagement with the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, with each paragraph focusing on one of the required points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'in addition to this' and 'moreover' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by informal punctuation and minor errors in sentence structure. The transition between the opening and the first point is a bit abrupt. To improve, ensure that your sentences are linked more smoothly and that you use a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect your arguments, rather than relying on simple additive conjunctions.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'financial independence,' 'time management,' and 'customer support.' However, there are several spelling errors ('independance,' 'communucation,' 'suggestring') and some awkward word choices, such as 'better opinion' instead of 'better option' and 'paid job' which is redundant. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they do indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise vocabulary. Focus on learning the correct spelling of common professional terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentences, but there are frequent errors in punctuation and grammar. For instance, you use 'u' instead of 'you,' and there are issues with capitalization and comma usage (e.g., 'i don,t this you do enjoy'). Subject-verb agreement is also inconsistent, such as 'It will also helps.' These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that verbs are correctly conjugated and that you avoid informal abbreviations like 'u' which are inappropriate for any formal or semi-formal writing task.
