Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You clearly state why college might be difficult, explain the benefits of working, and provide specific job suggestions. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For example, your explanation regarding why college would be difficult—'the capacity of concentration would be decrease'—is a bit vague and could be expanded with more personal or logical detail to fully satisfy the requirements for a higher band. Overall, the response is relevant and covers the prompt effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, each focusing on a specific part of the prompt. You use some cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost' and 'From my perspective' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'Other than that, starting study after so long time would be arduous. task for you.' The use of referencing is generally clear, but the mechanical nature of some transitions prevents the text from achieving a more natural, fluid progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary era,' 'arduous,' and 'commencing.' However, there are several instances of inaccurate word choice and collocation, such as 'having an employment' (should be 'having a job' or 'being employed') and 'this is trending posts' (should be 'these are trending roles'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a limited control over more sophisticated lexical items. To improve, focus on using nouns and verbs in their correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. For instance, 'the capacity of concentration would be decrease' contains a verb form error, and 'starting study after so long time' is missing an article. Additionally, there are issues with sentence fragments and punctuation, such as the period after 'arduous' followed by 'task for you.' While the meaning remains clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction limit your score in this criterion.
