Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response successfully covers all parts of the prompt in a natural tone suited to a friendly letter. You clearly state why your friend would not enjoy college, mentioning that it is boring and includes useless subjects. You explain that getting a job provides practical experience rather than just a thesis. Furthermore, you suggest a specific type of job related to cars, aligning well with your friend's interests. The position is clear throughout, and all bullet points are addressed. Although some ideas like career opportunities are slightly repetitive, the overall purpose of the task is well fulfilled, earning a solid band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a clear logical organisation with an appropriate informal greeting and sign-off, although the sign-off 'Yours Faithfully' is typically reserved for formal letters where the recipient's name is unknown. Paragraphing is used to separate different ideas, such as the critique of college, the benefits of a job, and the specific job suggestions. Cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'From my own experience' are employed to guide the reader through the text, though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive in structure. Overall arrangement is coherent and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common phrasing such as 'practical life', 'critical situation', and 'great opportunities'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, including 'usless' instead of useless, 'rely' instead of relate, 'reasoan' instead of reason, and 'thesies' instead of thesis. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score. With more careful proofreading and a slightly wider range of precise vocabulary, a higher band would be achieved.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Furthermore, you will capable to handle critical situation while working'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly missing verbs and prepositions, such as 'doing a college' instead of 'going to college', 'you should have to study', and 'you will capable' instead of 'you will be capable'. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but sentence structures often contain awkward phrasing. These errors occasionally strain the reader, placing the grammar at a modest level.
