Student answer (Band 5.0)
Dear John,
I hope you are doing absolutely fantastic. I'm beyond thirlled, when I got your message regarding job and work. In my opinion, firstly, you should concentrate on your academics and do part time job as well. I know you are not interested to attend the college at daiy basis. Then you can get admission as a online student. Along with the study, you can do job too.
By doing job, you can enhance your communication skills, digitals skills, public-speaking and teamwork which would be extremely beneficial for you. Apart from this, you can earn your income and take care of your all expanses or even you can pay your tution fees by yourself which will be proudful moment for your parents as well.
I'll suggest that kinds of jobs which will be helpful in you future such as fashion design, IT jobs, data filling, accountant, assistant manager, software skills vacations and many more, I'm encouraging these types of jobs beacuse these are related to yours studies.
Yours Sincerely,
Mandeep kaur

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You have addressed the main parts of the task by discussing your friend's situation regarding work and college, but the content partially shifts and contradicts the prompt's premise. The prompt states that your friend is asking for advice about whether to go to college or get a job, and that you think he should get a job. However, in your response, you advise him to 'concentrate on your academics and do part time job as well' or 'get admission as a online student,' which contradicts the instruction that he should simply get a job instead of going to college. Furthermore, while you mention types of jobs, your suggestions such as 'software skills vacations' and 'data filling' are somewhat unclear and under-developed, limiting the overall clarity of your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your letter shows some basic organization, separating ideas into paragraphs, but there is a lack of clear overall progression. Paragraph transitions are somewhat abrupt, and cohesive devices are often repetitive or inaccurate. For instance, phrases like 'Apart from this' and 'By doing job' are used mechanically. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final paragraph where you write 'I'll suggest that kinds of jobs which will be helpful in you future,' which disrupts the logical flow between your points. To improve coherence, you need to ensure that each paragraph builds smoothly on the previous one with a wider and more accurate range of linking words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. You attempt some less common vocabulary, but this leads to noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form that cause some difficulty for the reader. Examples include spelling and collocation slips such as 'thirlled' instead of thrilled, 'daiy basis' instead of daily basis, 'expanses' instead of expenses, and 'proudful moment' instead of a moment of pride. Phrases like 'data filling' and 'software skills vacations' are unnatural. To reach a higher band, you need to use more precise and natural phrasing with fewer errors in spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You demonstrate a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple forms alongside faulty attempts at complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense, preposition, and article usage. Examples include 'I'm beyond thirlled, when I got your message' (incorrect comma placement and tense shift), 'interested to attend' instead of interested in attending, 'on a online student' instead of as an online student, and 'helpful in you future' instead of in your future. These frequent errors require the reader to occasionally decode your intended meaning. To improve, you should focus on increasing your control over basic sentence patterns, prepositions, and verb complements.
