Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You make your recommendation clear: you advise Simran to take a job rather than return to college, and you give relevant reasons, including that she already has a postgraduate diploma, has a placement offer, and could earn money. However, the task asks you to explain why she would not enjoy college and to suggest suitable types of work. These points are not fully addressed: you mainly say college would waste time, and you mention human resource management without offering specific job roles or explaining why she would enjoy them. The ideas are therefore limited and under-developed. To strengthen the letter, explain what aspects of college may not suit her and suggest roles such as HR assistant or recruitment coordinator, linking them to her interests and qualifications.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, a paragraph giving your recommendation, a paragraph about work, and a closing. The main position is also easy to identify. However, the progression between ideas is not always clear: the first body paragraph combines her qualification, a placement offer, and repeated claims that college would waste time. The next paragraph repeats the recommendation rather than developing a distinct point about suitable work. Linking expressions such as “According to me” and “Thus” are used, but the connections between sentences can feel mechanical or unclear. Organise the body around the task points—college, benefits of employment, and suitable roles—and use clear references to connect each idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “post graduate diploma,” “placement offer,” “multinational company,” and “human resource management.” These terms help communicate the general situation and your advice. However, the range is limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors make the letter less natural, such as “wastage of time,” “finacially,” “managment,” and “feild.” Some phrases are also awkward, including “which field you opt” and “pursuing your job.” Aim for more precise, natural expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, you could say “which career path to choose,” “a waste of time,” and “pursue a career in human resources.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand your main recommendation. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “I am writing this regarding suggestion about which field you opt asyou asked me last week” has unclear sentence structure, while “as, this level ofeducation is good for best for career choice” is not grammatically complete. There are also problems with articles, sentence boundaries, and punctuation, as in “Job will support you finacially.” Work on forming complete sentences, separating ideas with appropriate punctuation, and using patterns such as “I am writing to give you advice about…” and “A job would support you financially.”
