Student answer (Band 4.0)
Dear Nita,
I received a letter from you about advice about college and job, but my suggestion is the education is the most important of life for better knowledge and skills.
Firstly, going college with friends having fun and share ideas. College are the last destination of education. Our college are well infrastructure with great facilities and modern classes, along with better education. In my opinion, you must have to go college for better education.
However, job can only fulfill the financial requirements but not for knowledge. If the financial situation is not good for you, do the job which can provide the good facilities and making daily life easy.
Moreover, i suggets a good job like It company, cyber, which is good for you because you gain knowledge in college. This could be fulfill the requirements of financial problems.
In the last of conversation, i stand with going college is the best way for you.
Yours faithfully,
Dev Chaudhary

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response does not fulfil the central purpose of the letter: the prompt asks you to recommend getting a job, but you repeatedly advise Nita to attend college, including “you must have to go college” and “going college is the best way for you.” As a result, your position conflicts with the task, and the requested explanation of why she would not enjoy college is missing. You do mention possible financial benefits of work and suggest an IT company or cyber-related work, but these points are brief and do not clearly explain why employment suits her. To address the task, state a consistent recommendation for work, give a reason she may dislike college, and develop specific job suggestions linked to her interests or abilities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
The letter has a basic paragraph structure, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “However,” and “Moreover” show an attempt to organise the points. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the opening and conclusion recommend college, while the middle briefly discusses work. This contradiction weakens the connection between paragraphs. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically, and “In the last of conversation” does not provide a clear or natural conclusion. Organise the letter around one consistent recommendation: explain why college may not suit Nita, then give the benefits and suitable job options, and finish by restating your advice. Clearer links between each reason would make the message easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related words, including “financial requirements,” “knowledge and skills,” “facilities,” and “requirements,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the vocabulary is often imprecise or combined unnaturally, as in “college are the last destination of education,” “good facilities” for a job, and “It company, cyber.” There is also repetition of “better education” and “requirements,” and the job suggestions are too vague to convey a clear choice. Aim for more natural phrases and specific job names, such as “entry-level IT support” or “a cybersecurity role,” where appropriate. Check spelling and word forms too: “suggets” should be “suggest,” and “IT” should be capitalised.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response mainly uses short, simple statements, with a few attempts to join ideas using “because” and “which.” These attempts are not consistently controlled: “Firstly, going college with friends having fun and share ideas” is not a complete, well-formed sentence, and “This could be fulfill” has an incorrect verb construction. There are also recurring errors in articles, agreement, and verb forms, for example “going college,” “College are,” and “you must have to go college.” These patterns sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand. Practise complete sentence structures and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns. For instance, write “Going to college with friends can be enjoyable” and “This could fulfil your financial needs.”
