Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Karmaveer,

It was greateful to hear from you. I understand that you are currently confused whether to go college ot try to get a job. Sinces childhood I know very well and now as you finised your Bachlor in Business Management I would recommend that you should try to find a job with your field related. This is because you are now professional in your field as well as you already have enough certifications which could helps you to get your desired job position with good package. Also, you are not enjoying college beacuse of consuming time to travel was way more tha normal time, which was about more than 2 hours in total.

Futhermore, hunting for job take around 1 to 2 months, however you could save 3 years of your life time from attending college for Master's Degree.

I wish you do not accept any job offer which is not related to your field, rather I would suggest you as per your priveous certification in Microsoft word, Excel and powerpoint you should try to find assistance administration position, which might fit best for your proffesion.

I hope this suggestion help you to make your bright future.

Best wishes.

Yours Faithfully,

Amansinh Vansia

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points and make your recommendation clear: you advise your friend to seek work related to their Business Management degree. You give relevant reasons, including existing qualifications, the time involved in further study, and the long commute to college, and you suggest an administrative assistant role linked to Microsoft Office skills. This covers the task well, with some detail already supporting your advice. However, the explanation of why your friend would not enjoy college is mainly about travel time, and the benefits of employment could be developed further—for example, by explaining how work would build experience or provide income. The job suggestion is relevant but would be stronger with a clearer link to the friend’s interests or abilities.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a recognisable structure: an opening that responds to your friend, a paragraph explaining your recommendation, further reasons, a job suggestion, and a closing. Connectors such as “Also,” “Furthermore,” and “rather” help show how ideas relate. However, the progression is not always smooth: the point about saving three years appears abruptly, and the final paragraph combines a warning about unsuitable offers with a specific job recommendation. Some references are also unclear, as in “I understand that you are currently confused whether to go college ot try to get a job.” Organising the reasons for employment together, then presenting suitable roles in a separate paragraph, would make the sequence easier to follow and the cohesion less mechanical.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to education and employment, including “certifications,” “desired job position,” “Master’s Degree,” and “administration position.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “greateful,” “Sinces,” “Futhermore,” “priveous,” and “proffesion.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “good package” would be clearer as “a good salary,” while “assistance administration position” does not name the role naturally. Aim to learn common employment collocations and check spelling carefully. This would make your vocabulary more accurate and flexible while preserving the relevant range already shown.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause (“This is because…”) and a contrast with “however.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “confused whether to go college” needs a construction such as “unsure whether to go to college,” and “hunting for job take” has problems with the article and subject–verb agreement. In “certifications which could helps,” the modal should be followed by the base verb. There are also awkward sentence patterns in “I wish you do not accept any job offer.” Practise articles, agreement, verb forms after modals, and natural clause structures; more accurate control of these patterns would strengthen your varied sentence attempts.
