Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall recommendation to get a job, and you include a reason—helping the family financially—as well as a suggested occupation. However, the task is only partly addressed: you do not explain specifically why your friend would dislike college, and the reasons for choosing work are brief. The suggestion of an “electronic machinic” is not explained in relation to your friend’s interests or abilities, and saying the job has “not any holidays” does not make its suitability clear. The response is also 7 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop the advice. Add specific, relevant reasons and explain why each job option would suit your friend.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, advice, a job suggestion and a closing. The ideas are grouped into short paragraphs, and words such as “Because” and “I suggest” show attempts to connect them. However, progression is difficult to follow because several sentences repeat the recommendation without adding information, for example, “I advice you do job is good idea” and “I suggest a you doinga job.” Connections between ideas are often unclear, and the opening does not establish the purpose smoothly. Organise the letter around the three requested points, using one paragraph for each, and link reasons to recommendations with clear expressions such as “This would suit you because…”

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant words, including “college,” “job,” “parents,” “training” and “information,” so the general topic can be recognised. However, vocabulary is limited and repeated, and several word choices or forms make the meaning difficult to understand. For example, “electronic machinic” is not a natural job title, while “your house condition a very weak” does not clearly express the intended financial situation. Spelling errors such as “sibilngs” and “continoun” also reduce clarity. Build a wider range of everyday advice and employment vocabulary, and check that job names and phrases are natural. More precise wording would help you explain both your reasons and your friend’s suitability.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response mainly uses short, simple statements and attempts a few longer sentences with “because,” but the sentence patterns are limited and frequently inaccurate. Errors in verb forms and sentence construction appear in examples such as “you should doing the job,” “Because will be help a parents,” and “I think you continoun the job next week.” Articles and agreement are also often missing or incorrect, as in “a job is good idea.” These problems sometimes make it hard to identify who is doing what. Practise forming complete sentences with a subject and verb, and review basic patterns such as “you should get a job,” “it will help your parents,” and “a job is a good idea.”
