Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to summarize the graph, but it fails to accurately report the data. There are significant factual errors, such as misinterpreting the negative values on the graph as 'rises' or 'boots'. The overview is vague and does not clearly highlight the main trends or significant differences between the metals. While the response covers the three metals, the information is often confusing or contradictory, making it difficult for the reader to understand the actual trends shown in the graph. To improve, focus on accurately reading the axes and identifying clear peaks, troughs, and overall trends rather than listing every minor fluctuation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'Moreover, still december' or 'In jun, copper, nickel and zinc were went to same way'. Referencing is frequently unclear, and the transition between ideas is disjointed. While there is an attempt at an overall structure, the lack of clear logical flow and the frequent misuse of linking words hinder the clarity of the report. Improving the use of cohesive devices and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the coherence of the writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and contains numerous spelling errors, such as 'ststisical', 'acoumpair', 'plummed', 'majour', 'octumbur', and 'drameticaly'. These errors, combined with incorrect word choices like 'boots' instead of 'boosts' or 'stret line', make the text difficult to follow. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and practicing the use of precise vocabulary for describing trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'declined', or 'remained stable'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('Nickel was number'), incorrect verb tenses ('were went to'), and sentence structure. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many missing spaces after commas and periods. The range of structures is limited, and attempts at complex sentences are generally unsuccessful. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors in tense and word order. Consistent practice with simple, error-free sentences is a better foundation than attempting complex structures that are currently inaccurate.
