Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the development of the task. While you have identified the main features of the graph, the analysis is incomplete and stops abruptly. You have attempted to report on the trends for copper, nickel, and zinc, but the lack of sufficient length means that the data is not fully explored or compared. To improve, ensure you provide a comprehensive overview and describe the trends for all three metals across the entire year, rather than stopping mid-sentence. The failure to complete the summary prevents a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into two short paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. While you use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'At the beginning', and 'Meanwhile', the flow is disrupted by grammatical errors and the abrupt ending. Paragraphing is present, but the second paragraph is underdeveloped and lacks a clear conclusion or final summary. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus and that ideas are linked logically using a wider variety of transition words to guide the reader through the data.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You use basic terms like 'change', 'declined', and 'fluctuated'. While these are relevant to the task, there is little evidence of less common or more precise vocabulary. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'dramatical declined' (should be 'a dramatic decline') and 'Nikel is declined contiousl' (should be 'nickel declined continuously'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'plummeted', 'gradual increase', or 'remained stable'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with verb tenses (e.g., 'had been very fluctuated'), article usage (e.g., 'in the month of the march'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'Nikel is declined contiousl'). The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as using subordinating conjunctions (e.g., 'while', 'although') to combine ideas more effectively.
