Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. While you have identified the three metals and attempted to describe the trends, the summary is incomplete and lacks a clear overview of the main features. The description of the data is often inaccurate; for example, stating that nickel 'dropped from January to last month' is vague, and the description of copper's fluctuations is difficult to follow. To improve, you must ensure you provide a clear, concise summary of the overall trends and ensure the response meets the length requirement to allow for a full development of the data points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a logical structure. There is no clear paragraphing, and the transition between ideas is abrupt and often confusing. You rely on basic connectors like 'and' or 'then', which makes the flow mechanical. The lack of clear referencing (e.g., 'in contrast started from massive level') makes it difficult for the reader to follow which metal is being discussed. To improve, use clear paragraph breaks for the introduction, overview, and body paragraphs, and employ a wider range of cohesive devices such as 'whereas', 'subsequently', or 'in comparison' to link your ideas more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic verbs like 'dropped', 'increase', and 'rose'. There are also several errors in word choice and form, such as 'fell drown' (fell down) and 'charge' instead of 'change'. The phrasing is often unnatural, which hinders the clarity of your report. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'plummeted', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a marginal increase'. Focus on using accurate terminology for describing data trends rather than repeating simple verbs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The grammar is frequently inaccurate, with many errors in sentence structure, verb tense, and punctuation. For instance, 'lithe graph is illustrate' is grammatically incorrect, and there are frequent run-on sentences or fragments. The use of articles and prepositions is inconsistent throughout the text. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences that are often poorly constructed. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using correct tense forms when describing past data. Proofreading for basic punctuation and capitalization errors would also be highly beneficial.
