Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the graph, but the analysis is somewhat inconsistent. While you identify the general trends, the description of the data points is occasionally imprecise or confusing, such as the description of zinc's movement. You successfully highlight the key fluctuations for all three metals, but the comparison between them could be more explicit. To improve, ensure that the data points cited are clearly linked to the specific months and that the overall trends are summarized with greater clarity. The report provides a sufficient overview, but some of the specific data reporting lacks the precision required for a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Notably', 'Furthermore', and 'Moving ahead' to transition between sections. However, the internal cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical. For instance, the long sentence describing copper's movement is a run-on that makes the logical flow difficult to follow. Improving the use of linking words and breaking down complex, multi-clause sentences would enhance the overall coherence and make the information easier to digest.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fluctuations', 'gradual rise', and 'stabilizing'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'at starting' (should be 'at the start') and 'dived till June' (which is slightly informal). The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise reporting verbs and nouns related to data trends, and ensure that your prepositions are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. For example, 'the prices was' is a subject-verb agreement error, and 'reached at approximately' is an incorrect prepositional phrase. Additionally, some sentences are overly long and lack proper punctuation, leading to run-on structures. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are punctuated correctly.
