Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to describe the trends in the graph, but it fails to provide a clear overview or effectively highlight the main features. The description of the data is often confusing and inaccurate, such as stating 'it slight decrase was 0.5% to M' or 'it sgincreased significant was 1%'. The report lacks a logical summary of the trends, and the data points mentioned are often difficult to follow or interpret correctly. The response does not adequately compare the three metals, which is a key requirement of the task. The lack of clarity in reporting the figures significantly hinders the reader's ability to understand the information presented in the graph.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed and confusing. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often misused or placed awkwardly, such as 'To commence with' and 'Moving towards remaining information'. The referencing is frequently unclear, with phrases like 'to M', 'to A letter', and 'to J' being used without context, making it difficult to follow the sequence of events. The lack of logical flow between sentences and the repetitive nature of the phrasing make the text difficult to read and understand.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The range of vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'it slight decrase was 0.5%' and 'it sgincreased significant was 1%'. Spelling errors are also prevalent throughout the text, including 'durin', 'incrase', 'decrase', 'sgincreased', 'flacuate', and 'peiod'. The vocabulary used is not sufficient to describe the trends in the graph with any degree of precision or accuracy. The student struggles to use appropriate terminology for describing data trends, which limits the effectiveness of the communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical structure is highly problematic, with frequent errors that impede communication. There is a lack of control over basic sentence structures, and the use of complex sentences is almost entirely absent or incorrectly formed. Examples include 'it is clearly seen that the copper change in the prices with pa monthey was almost incrase' and 'which slight decrease was -2%, then sharply increase was 1%'. Subject-verb agreement, tense usage, and word order are consistently incorrect. The high frequency of grammatical errors makes the text very difficult to follow and significantly impacts the overall quality of the writing.
