Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which severely limits your ability to cover all parts of the task. You have failed to complete the description of the data, as the text cuts off abruptly mid-sentence while discussing Zinc. Furthermore, you have not provided an overview of the main trends, which is a critical requirement for Task 1. To improve, you must ensure you describe all three metals fully, include a clear summary of the overall trends (e.g., which metal was most volatile), and meet the minimum word count to avoid a penalty.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response lacks a clear structure. While you have attempted to group information by metal, the lack of a concluding overview and the incomplete nature of the final paragraph make the progression of ideas unclear. Cohesive devices are minimal; you rely on simple transitions like 'after that' and 'till', which makes the flow feel mechanical. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'In contrast', 'Subsequently', 'Meanwhile') and ensure your paragraphs are balanced and complete, with a clear introduction and a distinct overview paragraph.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is limited and contains several spelling errors, such as 'minrels' (minerals), 'drasticly' (drastically), 'stady' (steady), 'octomber' (October), and 'drameticly' (dramatically). These errors, combined with the misuse of terms like 'highest range' and 'price rate', hinder the clarity of your report. To reach a higher band, you need to use more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a downward trend', and ensure your spelling is accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('in first month'), incorrect prepositions ('in month of march'), and subject-verb agreement issues. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and the abrupt ending of the text prevents the use of more complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, including the correct use of articles and prepositions when discussing time periods and data points. Aim to incorporate more complex structures, such as relative clauses or participial phrases, to describe the trends more fluently.
