Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the graph by reporting the overall trends and noting specific points in time, such as June and July. However, the student struggles to present a fully clear and accurate summary of the data. For instance, stating that 'in june they achive lowest decreasing point copper -0.5, nickel -3, zinc -1' lacks sufficient comparative depth and precise integration of all relevant trends across the year. The overview provided at the start is extremely brief ('copper and nickel shows the decreased trand... at the other hand zinc shows growth') and contains inaccuracies regarding the actual yearly trajectories. Consequently, the task is addressed only partially, placing the response at Band 5.0 according to the criteria.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text demonstrates a basic attempt to organise information chronologically, starting with an introductory overview, moving through the early months, and concluding with the latter half of the year. However, the logical progression is severely disrupted by poor paragraphing, run-on sentences, and a lack of proper punctuation. The entire response is essentially split into block sentences without clear logical markers or cohesive devices. Transitions such as 'at the other hand' and 'after june there prices are getting increase' are inaccurate and mechanical. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of information. This level of organisation aligns with a Band 4.0 descriptor.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is very basic, repetitive, and heavily relies on words directly lifted from the prompt and the student's own limited inventory. Examples include 'prices changed', 'decreasing trend', 'lowest decreasing point', and 'price rise'. There are frequent word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'trand' instead of trend, 'constantle' for constantly, 'achive' for achieve, 'stabled' for stabilised, 'coper' for copper, and 'nickle' for nickel. The range of vocabulary is limited and inadequate for a precise discussion of statistical data, meaning the lexical profile corresponds to a Band 4.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The writing exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting primarily of simple sentences strung together with commas instead of proper terminal punctuation. There are constant, heavy grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('copper and nickel shows', 'zinc show upper trand'), tense confusion ('the graph illustrated', 'prices are getting increase'), and missing auxiliary verbs. Complex sentence attempts are virtually absent, and the density of errors causes frequent strain and difficulty for the reader, placing this criterion at Band 4.0.
