Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to describe the graph showing the average monthly change in prices of three metals, but it fails to effectively select and report the main features. While it mentions copper and nickel, the information is garbled, highly inaccurate, and difficult to connect to the source data. For instance, the claim that zinc was 'monthly change same in moth of jan from december' ignores the noticeable fluctuations shown in the graph. The overview is vague and confused, and comparisons are not made in a meaningful way. It falls well short of clear reporting, earning a band 4.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is poorly structured and lacks a logical progression of ideas. Although paragraphs are attempted, the sentences within them do not flow cohesively. Transitional phrases are either absent or misused, such as abruptly starting sentences with 'And in this graph' or 'the compared of these items'. Referencing is unclear, making it hard to follow which metal or data point is being discussed. Overall arrangement is faulty and mechanical, corresponding to a band 4.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

Vocabulary is extremely basic, repetitive, and frequently incorrect. There are numerous spelling mistakes throughout the text, including 'changein', 'thre', 'conumed', 'Nicckel', 'zinic', 'unforunately', and 'Nikel'. Word choices are inappropriate for academic writing, such as 'modifiy price', 'maximum consumed same', and 'peak point'. The limited range and constant lexical errors cause significant strain for the reader, placing it at band 4.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is severely restricted, consisting mostly of poorly constructed simple and attempted complex sentences that fail grammatically. Errors are pervasive and often distort meaning, such as 'the price of copper was started 2 percentage' and 'the compared of these items, these metals were minmum prices chnange'. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are handled poorly, resulting in run-on clauses. These frequent, severe errors restrict the score to band 4.0.
