Student answer (Band 7.0)
In tis fast paced world, everyone wants to work hard, earn well and spend time with loved ones. To get the appropriate candidate for the job, there are multiple rounds of interviews and employers sometime ask candidates for their hobbies and interest to know them more, whether they are married or single. Some people say that this information may be relevant and useful whilst some disagree with them. I personally believe these information are relevant and useful for the company. This essay shall discuss both the views before justifying my opinion.
Employers seek these information the candidates to understand how they can balance their work life and their hobbies and interest. Since hobbies and interest of a person can reduce their stress from work and can be more productive which can help their own growth and company's growth as well. Employers can plan a team outing for who have common hobbies and interest so that employees can get new perspective and meet their other colleagues, spend sometime outside the offices. This small change can be beneficial for both of them. Employees who are single can be more flexible in their work life than the employees who are married. Since married employees have other responsibilities as well. Company would help for the employees for the same.
However, many disagree for seeking the information since they feel that these information is not relevant to the company and would not affect the work. Employees have to work irrespectively. With this approach the employees are not happy for the longer run. With no discussion of hobbies and interests, and team outings they feel like robots who just work in the company. Company doesn't think about the employees and their well-being eventually they will loose their employees.
But, according to my perspective, employers should know and have these information so that they can connect well with their employees. Remembering their birthdays, anniversaries and acknowledging their hobbies and interests well will feel them valued. Even small gestures from the company makes a huge difference in one employees day and life.
In conclusion, there are benefits in knowing the information of the employees but the employer should also know the line of difference between over sharing and sharing the information, some employers still feel these information are irrelevant and non-useful. However, as long as, these information does not affect the quality and quantity of work from the employee, there should not be an issue for the company.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both sides of the argument and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the discussion on work-life balance and team building. However, some arguments are slightly under-developed; for instance, the claim that 'married employees have other responsibilities' is a generalization that could have been supported with more nuance. The position is consistent throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explored with more specific examples or deeper reasoning rather than relying on general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However,' 'In conclusion,' and 'Since,' which help guide the reader. However, there is some mechanical use of these devices, and some transitions between sentences feel slightly abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, though the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints and the conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'appropriate candidate' and 'new perspective.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'these information' (information is uncountable) and 'will loose their employees' (should be 'lose'). The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but more precise and sophisticated vocabulary would enhance the quality of the argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in grammar, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('these information are') and article usage. Some sentences are slightly fragmented or awkward, such as 'Company would help for the employees for the same.' While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences and focusing on basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve the score.
