Employers sometimes ask people applying for jobs for personal information, such as their hobbies and interests, and whether they are married or single. Some people say that this information may be relevant and useful. Others disagree.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
As it is discussed from two side that bosses or Managers often ask from their employees about thier personal interests and their status while they interviewing them and its not useful for them while opponents not agree with this. I will shed some lights on both of points and share my own experience as well.
As i can start with, while i finished my studies i applied for many jobs. In interview HR ask me about my hobbies and interest. In the start i am so nervousr as i never have been interviewed in my life. So as she start the conversation with my name, hobbies and familiyu i feel to comfortable with her . After going ahead i felt confident and i replied all her questions very well and got the job.
On the other hand, according to some people its not good policy to ask somebody about their personal things. As if anybody wants to do the job they dont need to tell if they are married or not. Also, it does not prove that if somebody is married then they cant do the job perfectly.
I partially agree with both the statements but according to my view points its just way to start a conversation with two people who dont know each other.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly limits the development of ideas. While you address both sides of the argument and provide a personal opinion, the discussion is superficial. The points regarding the relevance of personal information are underdeveloped, and the personal anecdote, while relevant, lacks the depth required for a high-scoring essay. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and examples to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited (e.g., 'As i can start with', 'On the other hand'). The progression of ideas is clear, but the transitions between paragraphs could be smoother. The introduction is a bit repetitive and lacks a clear thesis statement that outlines the essay's direction. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing (e.g., 'personal things', 'do the job perfectly'). There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'shed some lights on both of points'. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to employment and professional conduct, and work on using more sophisticated synonyms to avoid repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'As it is discussed from two side', 'thier personal interests', and 'i am so nervousr'. Punctuation and capitalization errors (e.g., 'i' instead of 'I') are also present throughout the text. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, consistent verb tense usage, and proofreading for basic spelling and capitalization errors.
