Student answer (Band 5.5)
The debate surrounding task for personal information during applying for jobs has led to contrasting views while some people believe that this information is relevent and useful while others disagree with this. This essay will discuss both perspectives and explain why I believe that having this information is good and useful.
Those who support having personal information of employees is useful argue that it shows their interest and their personality. Employer will see that how much they are capable and shows the interest. One clear example is that in Google Microsoft company they ask this information to know about their employees hobbies and in which activity they would enjoy. So, It is important for both employers and employees to work better together.
On the other hand, some people disagree with this statement because they think that know about their education, skills and experience is more essential because this is professional and most important things to know about an employee and knowing about their personal life that is he or she married or single is very wrong. So, being professional this is not important to ask about personal information of an employee.
To conclude, people who think this is not good to ask employee personal question is right while know about this is very useful for employees, employers and company. So, I firmly believe that employers should know about employees hobbies and interests.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. The arguments provided are somewhat simplistic and lack depth; for example, the mention of 'Google Microsoft company' is vague and does not effectively support the point about hobbies. Because the response is under-length and the ideas are not fully extended or supported with sufficient detail, it falls into the lower band range. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more specific examples and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for full task development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand' and 'To conclude'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions are awkward, such as 'So, It is important'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the logical progression of ideas is hindered by the brevity of the paragraphs. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects smoothly to the next point.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'good and useful' and 'very wrong' lack the precision expected at higher bands. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'task for personal information' instead of 'requesting personal information'. The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common or idiomatic language. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to employment and professional standards, and work on using more precise adjectives and verbs to express your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Employer will see that how much they are capable' and 'people who think this is not good to ask employee personal question is right'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralisation, verb tenses, and sentence construction.
