Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, some personal questioned asked during interviews are in debate while some people believe these are relevant to our jobs In contrast others say that these should be not asked during interviews. I believe that more personal question creates prejudice and people are treated differently after getting hired.
On the one hand, if interests of people are known from the beginning helps to understand people. We know about their limitations, strengths, interests and especially dislikes. This not only helps to bond with each other but is good have a smooth conversation with others. For instance, going out for dinner and games and giving tasks they are good at. This helps in tasks distribution according to person's ability to complete it. We also get to know who can work better with whom.
On the other hand, when interviewer knows about the weaknesses they might take advantage of it. Sometimes some personal questions become reason of not getting the job. For example, female workers not getting hired because she is married and have a baby. People assume that she would not be able to work as efficiently as other candidates could. As a result, personal questions become a barrier in getting a good job. Especially, when competition is high for any position most employers prefer male employees instead of females.
In conclusion, I believe that personal beliefs and interests should not be asked in professional settings. It can cause biases while choosing a candidate for the job in no circumstances. I believe than only true recruitment will be done.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the discussion of team bonding versus potential discrimination. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'hobbies' is a bit superficial, and the example of gender discrimination is a strong point but could have been expanded with more depth to fully explore the implications. The position is consistent throughout, but the conclusion is slightly repetitive in its phrasing. Overall, it meets the requirements of the task but lacks the depth of analysis required for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is a logical flow from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used correctly, but the transition between sentences within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the subject of 'this' is ambiguous. More varied linking words would improve the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'prejudice' and 'professional settings'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and minor errors, such as 'some personal questioned asked' instead of 'questions asked' and 'in no circumstances' used incorrectly in the conclusion. The range of vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the message, but it lacks the precision and flexibility needed for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some personal question creates'), missing articles ('because she is married and have a baby'), and awkward phrasing ('these should be not asked'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences and missing commas that affect readability. The control of grammar is inconsistent, which is characteristic of the Band 6 level.
