Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many employers includes several unique interview questions related to their private data, marital status, likes and dislikes about their job applicants. I do not agree with this notion.
The interview questions should be professional and practical related to the job qualifications. Some scenario based questions such as asking about a solution to specific problem that usually rises at the work place , this could get a perception of an applicant that how they will deal the situation. For example, an interview in healthcare setting usually involves practical scenarios of patients and how to deal with typical issue.
On the other hand, hiring manager usually ask for the simple question types to get an idea of an individual. They collect the basic personal information to keep record for their professional use. However, some employers utilize the data to identify the qualities of an applicant by observing his/her hobbies.
As per my perspective, I would not feel comfortable to share all my personal information to any employer. I would consider the job application and the hiring process should be more practical and professional without any involvement to private questioning.
In conclusion, employers could ask you for some private information about your details however I do not believe this is the correct method for interviewing any individual.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views regarding personal information in job interviews and clearly states the writer's own opinion against the practice. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, lacking detailed elaboration or compelling examples. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the response contains only 214 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum. This under-length impacts the overall task response and prevents the candidate from achieving a higher band score under Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a basic overall logical progression, with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing different aspects of the prompt, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, though some paragraphs are quite brief. Cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand', 'However', and 'In conclusion' are used to connect ideas, but referencing and transitions are at times mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Many employers includes several unique interview questions related to their private data'. Overall, the organization is adequate for a basic level of coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common lexical items such as 'marital status', 'job qualifications', and 'hiring manager'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'employers includes' (grammar/agreement overlapping with lexical control), 'private data', and 'involvement to private questioning'. Repetition of words like 'personal information' and 'practical' is also evident. The lexical range is minimally adequate to convey the core message, but errors occasionally distract the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Some scenario based questions such as asking about a solution to specific problem that usually rises at the work place, this could get a perception...' which contains a comma splice and article errors. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement ('Many employers includes', 'problem that usually rises'), preposition use ('deal the situation', 'involvement to'), and missing articles. Despite these frequent errors, meaning is generally clear and communication is rarely completely impeded.
