Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many companies have different rules and regulation in the organization. Under in this many employers think that employees need to give their personal information such as hobbies, married or unmarried etc. Firstly, sometimes these information is useful for the companies beacuse if people write in resume that they have interest in travelling then company can ask that person for meeting if its jn international, they have interest in travelling.

Moreover, sometimes younger have interest to playing mind games like chess that kind of people have already multitasking mind set if they write their interest and hobbies in CV. then organization can give that people different types of works at yhe same times because they know that how to manage different jobs in same time.

In my opinion, the personal information given in resume is unreasonable because population have different way of thinking its did not means that anyone have not interest in cooking then they did not cook. if the things is important then they need to do that beacause its mandatory. for example, When i was work in HR recruiter then we are recurited with different companies, schools qnd hospital. I remembered that very cleary we have one client who everytime ask to us. we need accountant but only the married women. He strictly said that we are not hired any unmarried girl even he set one age limit also. He was our client so, that why we never ask him whats the reason of these logical.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views regarding whether personal information is useful in job applications, and a personal opinion is presented. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the student argues that hobbies like travelling or playing chess indicate multitasking skills, but this point is not fully extended. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum, containing only 248 words, which leads to a slight penalty under Task Achievement. The examples provided, such as the personal anecdote about an HR recruiter dealing with a discriminatory client, touch upon the topic but drift slightly away from directly discussing whether asking for marital status or hobbies is inherently useful. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of discussion places it within band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay has some basic organization, utilizing paragraphs to separate the discussion of useful personal information from the counter-argument and personal opinion. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow at times due to awkward transitions and unclear referencing. Phrases like 'Under in this' and 'if the things is important' disrupt the logical flow. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical or repetitive manner, such as the overuse of 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'for example', without always establishing clear semantic relationships between sentences. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks smooth cohesive ties, leading to a score of 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, containing noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Phrases like 'rules and regulation', 'these information' (uncountable noun misuse), and 'mind set' demonstrate a limited control of word choice and collocation. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'multitasking', but misuse of terms like 'recurited' (recruited) and 'logical' (logic or reason) limits the precision of the writing. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic ideas, the frequency of lexical errors places it firmly at band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'these information is', 'population have'), preposition errors ('Under in this', 'work in HR recruiter'), and tense inconsistencies. Punctuation is also problematic, with run-on sentences and sentence fragments (e.g., 'if the things is important then they need to do that beacause its mandatory'). Because these frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning in places, a band score of 5.0 is appropriate.
