Student answer (Band 5.5)
When applying for jobs, employers usually ask for personal questions like your hobbies and interests and your marital status. Some could consider these information as being useful for the employer to decide whether the person he is looking for, is the right one. However, some people disagree considering these information as not related to the job.
It could be argued that information about your hobbies and interest and if married or single could give the employer a first impression about the type of person you are. Based on your interests and hobbies, he could decide whether you would fit in the organisational team. Experienced employers made several interviews each year and they could easily recognise the type of employee who will form part of their team.
In addition, some organisation focus on team work hence, employees sharing same hobbies and interests would get along easier.Employees could have a conversation easily with their colleagues Eventually, this will have a positive impact on work and company as a whole.
On the other hand, sharing some personal information are not appreciated by everyone. Some may consider these as intruding in their personal life. They believe that these details are not work related and consequently will not affect their task.
In my oipinion, both views are to some extent true. I myself frequently see these information written in CV. But to what extent they are being used by employers are questionable.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on whether personal information should be requested by employers and provides a personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the length requirement is not met, as the response is under the minimum word count. Furthermore, some ideas remain under-developed and limited. For instance, the discussion on teamwork in the third paragraph is brief and lacks specific supporting examples. The position is stated, but the overall development is constrained by the short length and partial exploration of the arguments, keeping the task response limited.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement with a discernible structure, utilizing paragraphing to separate introduction, body points, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'In addition', 'On the other hand', and 'In my oipinion', but their use is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Referencing can occasionally be unclear, such as when pronouns like 'these' refer back across sentences rather loosely. While logical progression is visible, the links between sentences could be smoother to achieve a higher level of cohesion throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating basic terms such as 'employers', 'hobbies and interests', and 'organisational team'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, but noticeable errors occur in word choice, pluralisation, and collocation, such as 'personal questions' instead of 'personal information' and treating uncountable nouns like 'information' as plural ('these information'). Spelling errors are also present, notably 'oipinion'. These lexical inaccuracies do not entirely impede communication, but they restrict the range and precision of the vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures when discussing employer decisions and team dynamics. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly involving subject-verb agreement and singular-plural consistency, such as 'some organisation focus' and 'sharing some personal information are not appreciated'. Attempts at complex structures are often faulty, and these persistent errors can occasionally cause difficulty or hesitation for the reader, fitting a limited range of grammatical control.
