Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

Your response addresses the task only partially, and importantly, the length requirement is not met as your text contains 244 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum. While you attempt to discuss both views regarding personal information in job interviews and state your opinion at the beginning, your ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, you mention that hobbies explain worker behaviour and that some people dislike sharing personal details due to marital status or high-functioning depression, but these points are not sufficiently extended or supported with clear reasoning. Furthermore, your conclusion is incomplete, abruptly cutting off with 'in my opinion, personal life questions can be optional by emp', meaning your position is not fully clear or properly sustained throughout the entire piece.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation in your essay, featuring an introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding attempt, but there is no clear overall progression of thought. You make use of some basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'To illustrate it', and 'However', but overall cohesion is mechanical and repetitive. Paragraphing is attempted, but referencing between sentences is not always clear, making it difficult at times to follow the logical flow of your arguments. To move to a higher level, you need to ensure that your ideas transition more smoothly and logically from one point to the next, using a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately rather than relying on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your lexical resource is limited but minimally adequate for the task. You attempt some less common vocabulary, such as 'multi tasker', 'marital status', and 'high-functioning depression', but there are noticeable word choice, word form, and spelling errors that cause some difficulty for the reader, for example writing 'explaning' instead of 'explaining', 'peson' instead of 'person', 'noisily' instead of 'noisy', 'beacuse' instead of 'because', and 'emp' in your unfinished conclusion. To improve, you should focus on expanding your vocabulary range while ensuring accurate word forms, correct spelling, and appropriate collocations to express your ideas with greater precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You demonstrate a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentence forms. Your attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty, and there are frequent errors in grammar, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions. For example, you write 'interviews is an important part' instead of 'an interview is an important part', 'the other people thinks' instead of 'other people think', 'if employer is multi tasker' with missing articles, and 'It can also effect' instead of 'affect'. These frequent grammatical errors require the reader to occasionally pause or guess your meaning. To achieve a higher band, you need to produce a wider variety of complex sentence structures with far greater accuracy.
