Student answer (Band 5.0)

While applying for jobs, employers ask for things like whether the person is single or married.Their personsl information and hobbies etc

It is not relevant because when the person is in front of you and he fulfils the creteria of requirements needed for job then why there is need to ask him personal questions .Working dprofession and personal life and interests. both are different things.

Somehow it is relevant as well. For example,By knowing their hobbies and interest ,management used to give them task related to their interest which is somehow a kind of extra ,additional work with their assogned work.By knowing ,whether they are single or married,They come to know the availability of person .But sometime it is also kept for record of the employ which help during time of emergency. It is also useful also.

As per my experience,in many of the private schools most prestigious schools wants to know all personal interests, hobbies, marital status of their teachers.Because with teaching subjects, employ have to arrange many functions, anchoring, art, dancingevents etc.So basically you will becassigned with different tasks as per your interest. It is also considered that if you are single, you have enough extra time to be given to school as it is considered thst being single means you have less responsibilities as per mentality of Rural school.

In my opinion, It mainly depends on person ability or kind of presentation, passion can also be considered .May be he/she wants to express what extra they can contribute in addtikn to their assigned task.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and give an opinion, so the response is relevant to the question. You explain that marital status and hobbies may be unrelated to job suitability, then offer possible uses such as assigning extra duties according to interests and checking availability. The school example adds context, but the discussion is limited: the claim that single employees have more time relies on a broad assumption, and your own position is not fully clear until the final paragraph. The conclusion says ability, presentation and passion matter, but does not clearly state whether employers should ask for this information. The response is also one word below the required minimum. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and finish with a direct, consistent opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation: the response moves from the view that personal questions are irrelevant, to reasons they may be useful, then to an example and your opinion. This gives the reader a basic route through the discussion. However, paragraphing and progression are not fully controlled. The opening is fragmented, and the shift from general reasons to the school example is abrupt. Linking phrases such as “Somehow it is relevant as well” and “It is also useful also” are repetitive or imprecise, while the final paragraph does not clearly connect its points to the earlier discussion. Use distinct paragraphs for each view and your conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one main idea with clear references and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to employment and the topic, including “marital status,” “availability,” “assigned work,” and “contribute.” These choices help communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form and collocation errors make parts difficult to read, for example “creteria,” “assogned,” “employ,” and “addtikn.” Phrases such as “extra, additional work” repeat the same meaning, and “person ability” is not a natural expression. Aim for accurate, precise wording and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe job-related suitability as “qualifications and experience,” and refer to “additional responsibilities” rather than “extra, additional work.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “if you are single, you have enough extra time” and a relative clause in “which help during time of emergency.” However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “when the person is in front of you and he fulfils … then why there is need,” where the question structure and article use are faulty, and “management used to give them task,” which has problems with tense, number and sentence construction. There are also run-on sentences and missing spaces after full stops. Practise forming complete, correctly punctuated sentences, especially when using subordinate clauses, and check subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms.
