Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: you identified the location of the papers, explained their importance, and requested specific actions from the manager. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the papers are for a project, providing a bit more detail about the nature of the documents would have strengthened the response. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the reader understands exactly what is needed. To improve, ensure that each point is expanded upon with a bit more descriptive language to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter follows a logical structure, moving from the introduction to the problem and finally the request. Paragraphing is present, though the indentation and spacing could be more consistent. You use some basic cohesive devices, such as 'If you find', but the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. The transition between the importance of the papers and the request for action is a bit abrupt. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in addition to this') to create a smoother progression of ideas throughout the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'booking', 'staff', and 'collect'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'My self Simran kaur' (instead of 'My name is...') and 'approve my company of clothes' (which is unclear). There is also a lack of variety in your word choice, with some repetition of 'paper' and 'important'. Expanding your range of vocabulary and focusing on correct collocations will help you convey your ideas with more precision and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. These include issues with subject-verb agreement ('This paper are'), missing articles ('submit to Government of India'), and incorrect verb tenses ('someone from staff finds' instead of 'found'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and spacing. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity of your writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
