Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.5
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly identified the potential locations of the documents (room 404 or reception), explained the significance of the papers regarding your project and professional reputation, and provided clear instructions for the manager to assist in the search. The tone is appropriate for a formal business request. The ideas are well-developed and the purpose of the letter is clear from the outset. You have fully satisfied the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a formal closing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the request, which helps the reader follow your argument easily. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'Also' to link your ideas. While the flow is generally smooth, some transitions could be more sophisticated to move beyond basic connectors. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall progression of information is logical and easy to follow throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. Phrases like 'in-person discussion', 'prompt response', and 'managerial position' are used effectively. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'request you for finding' (should be 'request your assistance in finding') and 'loosing' (should be 'losing'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'this papers' (should be 'these papers'), 'makes my unable' (should be 'making me unable'), and 'inquire to lost and found' (should be 'inquire at the lost and found'). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your request. Increasing your control over subject-verb agreement and preposition usage will help improve your accuracy in future tasks.
