Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter covers all three bullet points: the location of the papers, their importance, and the request for action. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of ideas. The explanation of why the papers are important is brief, and the request for action lacks the necessary formality and detail expected in a professional letter. Because the response is under-length, it fails to fully develop the task requirements, resulting in a lower score for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition between the location of the papers and their importance is abrupt. There is a lack of linking words to connect ideas smoothly. While the overall message is clear, the progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed due to the brevity of the sentences and the lack of sophisticated transitions.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic. There are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'get that paper's' instead of 'retrieve those documents' and 'send me via speed post' which is slightly unnatural. The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little attempt to use more precise or professional terminology suitable for a formal request to a hotel manager. The repetition of 'important' and 'company' also limits the lexical variety.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

There are several grammatical errors throughout the text. For instance, 'I am Ms.Gaurav Taglani who have stayed' contains a subject-verb agreement error ('has stayed'). There are also punctuation and capitalization issues, such as 'Ms.Gaurav' and 'MOM & Financial'. The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and the lack of structural variety prevent a higher score.
