Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly state where the papers were left (the locker in room 201), explain their importance for your project, and provide a clear request for the manager to investigate. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of why the papers are important is brief. To reach a higher band, you could expand slightly on the consequences of losing these documents to show more depth. Overall, the task is fully addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'Also' to connect ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the second and third paragraph is functional but could be improved with more sophisticated linking phrases. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall progression of the letter is easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.0 or 7.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'misplaced', 'sincerely', and 'willing'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I got stayed' (should be 'I stayed') and 'my all papers' (should be 'all my papers'). Additionally, 'I'd proof' is a spelling error for 'ID proof'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands. Focusing on more natural collocations will help improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader, such as 'my personal bag which containing' (should be 'which contained') and 'I won't be complete' (should be 'I won't be able to complete'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage after introductory phrases like 'As, I told you'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of verb forms and sentence construction.
